The dromedary belongs to the camelid species. Unlike its cousin the camel which has 2 bumps, the dromedary has only one. This domestic mammal is found in North Africa, Middle East and Near East. Perfectly suited to desert areas, the dromedary can withstand extreme heat and lack of water.
